Website Terms and Conditions

Last updated: October 2026

These Website Terms and Conditions apply to your use of the Gold Coast Social Works website. By using this website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website.

1. About Gold Coast Social Works

Gold Coast Social Works provides social work services to adolescents and adults, including NDIS-funded and privately funded services where appropriate. Information on this website is provided to explain our services and help people decide whether they may wish to make an enquiry.

Using this website, submitting an enquiry or contacting Gold Coast Social Works does not, by itself, create a practitioner-client relationship. Services commence only after suitability, availability and relevant service arrangements have been confirmed.

2. General information only

The information on this website is general in nature. It is not intended to provide individual social work, medical, psychological, legal, financial or other professional advice, and should not be relied upon as a substitute for advice that takes your individual circumstances into account.

We aim to keep website information accurate and current, but information may change and we do not guarantee that every page will always be complete or up to date.

3. Emergencies and crisis support

Gold Coast Social Works is not an emergency or crisis service. The website and its enquiry channels should not be used for urgent or emergency assistance.

If you or another person is in immediate danger, call Triple Zero (000). For urgent health or mental health concerns, contact an appropriate emergency, crisis or health service.

4. Eligibility and service enquiries

Gold Coast Social Works currently provides services to adolescents aged 13 years and over and adults, subject to the nature of the person's needs, professional scope, capacity and service suitability.

We may determine that another service or professional is better placed to meet a person's needs. Making an enquiry does not guarantee that Gold Coast Social Works will be able to accept a referral or provide services.

5. NDIS information and funding

Information about the NDIS on this website is general information only. NDIS rules, pricing arrangements and participant plans may change, and the availability of funding does not by itself determine whether a particular service can be claimed from a participant's plan.

Gold Coast Social Works welcomes self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants where the proposed social work service is appropriate. NDIA-managed funding is not currently accepted.

Where NDIS funding is used, fees and any eligible provider travel or other charges will be discussed and agreed before services commence and will be applied in accordance with the applicable service agreement and current NDIS requirements.

6. Fees, appointments, travel and cancellations

Website information about fees, travel and cancellations is provided as a general guide. The specific fees and terms that apply to a client will be discussed before services commence and documented in the relevant service agreement.

Where applicable, provider travel time and travel-related costs may be charged in accordance with current NDIS Pricing Arrangements or as otherwise agreed for privately funded services.

Cancellation charges may apply where an appointment is cancelled at short notice or a client does not attend, subject to the applicable service agreement, funding rules and consumer law.

7. Website enquiries and communication

Please avoid including unnecessary sensitive or urgent information in a general website enquiry. Information submitted through the website will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Electronic communication can involve risks outside our reasonable control. We take reasonable steps to protect information, but cannot guarantee that internet or email communications will always be completely secure or uninterrupted.

8. Privacy

Gold Coast Social Works respects your privacy and handles personal information in accordance with applicable Australian privacy requirements. Please read our Privacy Policy for information about how we collect, use, store and disclose personal information and how you can request access or correction or raise a privacy concern.

9. Intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, the text, branding, graphics, downloadable resources and other original content on this website are owned by, or licensed to, Gold Coast Social Works and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may view or print website material for your own personal, non-commercial use. You must not reproduce, publish, distribute, modify or commercially use our original website content without permission, except where permitted by law.

10. Third-party websites and resources

This website may contain links to third-party websites or resources for convenience or additional information. Gold Coast Social Works does not control third-party websites and is not responsible for their content, availability, privacy practices or services. A link does not necessarily mean that we endorse the third party.

11. Website availability

We may update, change, suspend or remove website content or functionality from time to time. We do not guarantee that the website will always be available, uninterrupted, secure or free from technical errors.

12. Liability and Australian Consumer Law

To the extent permitted by law, Gold Coast Social Works is not responsible for loss arising solely from reliance on general website information or from matters outside our reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes, restricts or modifies any right, guarantee, remedy or protection that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law.

13. Complaints and feedback

We welcome feedback and take concerns seriously. Information about how to provide feedback or make a complaint is available in our Complaints and Feedback Policy.

NDIS participants may also have the right to make a complaint to the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission about NDIS supports or services.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these Website Terms and Conditions from time to time to reflect changes to our services, website, legal obligations or business practices. The current version will be published on this website and identified by its last-updated date.

15. Governing law

These Website Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Nothing in this clause limits any rights you may have under applicable Commonwealth or other laws.
